Networks and bundles

The networks and countries live for partners are shared by your technical contact during evaluation, and returned at any time by List networks. They will be listed here as each one is confirmed.

The live list for your account always comes from List networks. Each network carries:

  • status: operational, degraded (accepted, but confirmations are slower than usual) or unavailable (purchases are refused with network_unavailable).
  • status_message: a short explanation whenever the status is not operational.
  • recent_delivery: the measured median and 95th-percentile time from accepting a purchase to the network’s confirmation, over a recent window.

Check a network’s status before sending a large batch, and route around a network that is unavailable.

List bundles returns the bundles available to your account. Each bundle has:

Field Meaning
id The ID you buy with. Stable for as long as the bundle exists.
network_id The network the bundle belongs to. A bundle can only be bought for a number on that network.
name The name to show your customer.
data_mb The data allowance in megabytes (1 GB = 1024 MB).
validity_hours How long the customer has to use it after it is credited.
price Your contracted price, in minor units. Prices are specific to your account and never appear in these docs.
available Whether it can be bought right now.

Networks change their bundles from time to time. Refresh your copy of the catalogue at least daily, and treat bundle_unavailable as a signal to refresh it straight away.

  • The number must be on the bundle’s network. If you send network_id, Aura checks it and refuses a mismatch with network_mismatch, which tells you the number’s actual network.
  • Ported numbers are handled for you. Aura looks up the number’s current network, so a number that moved networks still gets the right bundle. You can look a number up yourself with Look up a number’s network.
  • The network can refuse a particular number. Some lines cannot take some bundles. These purchases fail with number_not_eligible and are not charged.
  • Phone numbers use E.164, such as +2348000000001.

Constraints specific to one network are listed against it in the table above once the network is confirmed.
